The 6-38094 model is a TMCC loco with Railsounds 5. Just wondering if a SuperChuffer upgrade is possible on this using an alternative smoke unit? Seems odd that Lionel would list a complete smoke unit as a replacement part if it is totally incompatible.

I remember that a year or so ago there was a thread about a LionMaster Big Boy with this same smoke unit PCB although at that stage it was said you had to contact Lionel to order it. (It may be that the asterisk after the part name means that rather than indicating a substitute part can be used.)

FWIW, I have not seen other 6 Ohm smoke units from this period (late TMCC/early Legacy) listed as available from Lionel for a number of years.
