Recent Post Feeds

The commentary on including For Sale headers on posts is now closed, however the issue of how recent posts appear is a much broader issue than just the For Sale or Wanted to Buy topics.  While I agree the FS and WTB leads are helpful, not having some indication on whether the post is from Traditional Toy Trains, 2 Rail Scale, Tin Plate and all, is equally if not more problematic. It is way too easy to click into a topic, read the posts and reply without realizing the topic is in a different topic area than one might have assumed. Posting something about 3 rail in the 2 rail area often ruffles feathers. How about having some sort of indication where the Recent Posts come from?  Or in the right hand Recent Posts column have the major topics such as  2R, 3R, Tin Plate, Manufacturers, etc have their own Topic box with an expandable drop down box? The link data already exists, it should not be that difficult to program topic areas.

Just as an example, I recently posted a few items for sale under the For Sale topic. After reading the thread, I went back to see if I had included FS on the post. Nope, forgot, but it should not be a big deal because it was in the correct topic area. However if not having FS on a post is an issue then it is an issue for every topic on the forum. Why would anyone want to waste their time clicking into a subject they are not interested in?  (meant tongue-in-cheek)  For me nearly all of the topics have something of value regardless of whether I would want to model that on my layout. If I click on something I am not interested in, I just move on.

BTW if the for sale and wanted to buy topics are all that much trouble, why not just get rid of them?
