I bought one of these last summer for use at work when doing my evening locomotive inspections and other locomotive work and like it a lot. The one I have is rechargeable with a cellphone type USB cable but it appears they also make a regular battery one as well. I usually charge it during the day by just plugging it into the computer for awhile so it's always ready when I need it in the evening. That being said, I'm not sure exactly how long the rechargeable battery actually lasts, but it's always good enough for what I've needed it for as long as I keep on top of charging it. Allegedly it'll get you 4 hours of light, but that's likely on the dimmest settings (which have often been plenty of light for me).
