Reply to "Recommended Sound Deadening Carpet for Temporary Layouts"

Although I graduated from carpet centrals some time ago, from experience, I would suggest something with a short pile, such as a Berber. If you have a carpet store or big box store (Home Depot, Lowe’s) near you, check to see if they have any remnants for sale - they tend to be cheaper.

Since you don’t want to spend a lot of money, you might also want to consider carpet tiles.
