Reply to "Relays for Track Power using AIU"

Curiosity got the better of me so I extracted the CH1 trigger input circuit of the FRM01.  Here's one way to take advantage of CH1 and the FRM01 Function 02 so that a single FRM01 can handle multiple sidings using an unmodified (stock) DCS Remote Commander to supply the watchdog signal.

Following each 1N4003 diode, insert 3 cents of parts (a 1M resistor and a 1uF capacitor) as shown.  To be clear, I do not recommend this since it means messing with loose components and soldering.

I present this for the record as I can imagine other AIU applications where multiple ACC(essory) ports can trigger a single FRM01 to perform some kind of timing/delay function for layout accessories.

Stan, I hope that I’m not bothering you with these questions. I’ve tried applying the circuit using the diode, resistor, and capacitor. It doesn’t seem to want to pass the signal though to the CH1 connection of the FRM01. Am I correct that the resistor and capacitor are non polar? I’ve tried to test continuity from the non-bar end of the diode to the ending lead on the resistor . The meter gave me a reading of one. From the non-bar end of the diode to the first end of the resistor the reading dropped to around 0.5. I have not connected any of this to the AIU for fear of damaging it. Instead, I used a DC 12 v + charge at the diode to simulate the AIU. I’m sure that I have something wrong. Just can’t track it.
