Gregg, from my experience you cannot. Connecting 2 channels together will effectively kill your DCS signal for, me it brought it down to 1's and 0's and "RF OUT OF RANGE" errors. You would honk the horn and it would stay on for like 45 feet until if got a signal again, and forget about changing speed. I ran my DCS locos with quickset speeds
