I do the same thing as RoyBoy but I substitute the rounded end of one of my large screwdrivers. The diameter of the rounded end is about an inch and, since I'm using the screwdriver in the reverse of its usual orientation with respect to use, the screwdriver shaft acts a great handle and allows very precise control with respect to handle placement.
