Reset MTH with Lionel ZW

I have a MTH N&W Y6B that when you turn on the Lionel ZW throttle, the engine sound and lights start up fine, but once you try and get the engine to move, it will not move and shuts down at the same site. Can you reset a MTH engine to factory using a Lionel ZW? Thanks. Scott.............
