@WScott posted:My Y-6-B is RailKing, ProtoSound 2.0, model 30-1163-1. I messed with it about six months ago and my nephews came down and wanted to see it run, but it wouldn't. I'll go through some of the manuals/instructions that you all have posted for me. I hope it works......appears it would be easier to reset with a MTH transformer..........Thanks.........Scott
Yes, correct, a PS2 is a completely different reset and requires working bell and whistle/horn to perform that.
The bigger problem as stated is that is a PS2 5V unit from the year 2000. It's 22 years old. It has the 9V rechargeable battery that should be replaced every 4 years or at least inspected. That's highly suspect as to why it did not run for you.

Checking the Battery
You may find, if your locomotive was built several months before you set it up,
that the rechargeable battery has run down and needs to be charged before
operating. If you notice that the sounds are g arbled, test and charge the engine as
described in the "Self-Charging Battery Back-Up" on page 16
Page 7 covered reset
Pages 17-18 cover the battery inspection and replacement
Another thing to check in older engines is the speaker for flaking, the board for failing capacitors, and the battery.
