Restoring a Postwar Lionel 264 Forklift Platform

I am restoring a Postwar 264 Forklify platform for a friend of mine. Can anyone tell me what would be the correct black paint to use to match as close as the original for the base and ramp? Flat Black, Semi Gloss, or Flat with a clear coat sealer?
