Reply to "Reverse unit guide wanted for American Flyer Wide Gauge 4675 engine"

If it is like the 4692 Loco I have this should help you. Ignore the line running down the middle, it is from my scanner(same with the close up of the cam). When the R/C lever is pulled up it allows the R\C function. The solenoid is powered and pulls the hook up so the cam can turn freely and the engine runs in whichever direction the FWD\REV lever is pointing(in = FWD out = REV). When power is turned off the plunger drops and the hook is released allowing it to catch the cam and pull the FWD\REV lever to the opposite position. When  power is reapplied it will run in the new direction. If you don't want the R\C to function then pull down on the R\C lever which pushes the hook up and holds it out of the way. Select which direction you want to run and apply power. As far as the wires Brush 1 , Brush 2, and the pick up wire are all Fahnestock clips on the diagram and the other three wires are solder points.
