Rivarossi C-Liner-Start from scratch

My new (old stock) C-liner has arrived and it's time to let out some details that I've been holding onto.

First... here's a comparison to the Atlas FM Erie-builts.

notice the similarities in the pilot, well, I ordered an Atlas 2-rail pilot to replace the stock Rivarossi pilot which will be cut off.

I don't know if I'll attempt the "smile", we'll see how it goes.

The trucks will come off and the frame will be modified to accommodate the truck swivels and/or mated with a Lionel FM H16-44 frame, which will supply the power and accommodate the ERR Cruise Commander.

I also haven't fully decided, but it looks like I will be modifying it to represent a CFA-20-4 that has been repowered using an EMD 567 and the sounds will match.

This means ordering EMD exhaust stacks from P&D and filling in the stock stack and steam generator details.
