Reply to "RMT Bang Diesel"

No cruise for the BANG, at least the one that RMT was selling a few years ago.  It has excessive cogging of the motors, and at low speed the cruise was very jerky.  It ran fine with the Mini Commander II.

Good point, and I have wondered about that in the Bang.

I ERR'd a can-motored Lionel 0-4-0 steam switcher a few years ago. Great loco (the PW-descended slope-back tender loco); decent gearing. Motor is a tad coggy. I actually put a plain DC Commander in it first, then swapped to a Cruise Commander board to see what happened. Ran well either way, and the Cruise Commander seems happy there, so I left it. It's not one of those 1 smph engines, but it runs like a switcher.

So when/if I ever "Bang Command" the RMT Alco, I'll skip the Cruise.
