Reply to "Roadrailers"

A fellow I know back in my hometown in PA, who models in N scale, actually got his job with Conrail years ago because of Roadrailers.  He happened to be at the station photographing trains one day when a passing Roadrailer train went into emergency.  The crew couldn't isolate the problem but, my aquaintance was familiar with how to disconnect Roadrailer trailers from one another as the ones he had on his layout were prototypical in design and operation.  He managed to get the bad trailer cut off so that the crew could set it out into a siding.  When the division superintendent called the conductor to thank him for getting the train back underway and was told what had happened, my aquaintance was contacted and invited to interview for a job.  Short story, he ended up as an engineer running between Conway and Harrisburg and continues to work for NS in engine service now as a helper engineer out of Altoona.

Improbable as heck but, a true story.
