K-Line engines do not have Bluetooth, so don't use that function if it's a choice. Bluetooth is a relatively recent addition to Lionel locos and K-Line was long gone when Bluetooth was added. The app should have TMCC/Legacy functionality, so maybe I'm just unfamiliar with what you are doing, since I rarely use the app.
