I have used the number boards from P&D also, successfully. You do have to sand off the big ones, and fill the hole. I glued a piece of styrene behind the board and then filled it with Tamiya white putty. they tamiya putty in my opinion does not shrink as much and feathers better than the Squadron putty. Many guys also use Squadron.
