scenery suggestions?

I have a space on my layout that is 5/12 in wide and 3 feet long.
I lies between tow tracks and is parallel to the back of a small town area.
I have a 6x13 ft layout and i don't want to just landscape this area.
Any suggestions for a small industry ,etc. would be appreciated.
