I really thought I would see evidence of the flywheel hitting the inside of the shell because Eric Siegel had a similar issue recently that he posted about. However, even though I didn't see anything obvious, I would guess the sound *was* the flywheel hitting the inside of the shell because the motor was tilted to one side. In any case, the more I think about running it with the drive coupling in the position it was in, the more I realize how lucky I was it didn't bind up on the motor shaft sprocket and snap something off. Not that I had a choice...the video of the scraping sound was the initial run...somehow I just figured something would go wrong.
