I once saved a bunch of hard cardboard tubes (from some kind of rolled paper stock) to make a grain elevator in O scale; they got lost/misplaced in a move but the idea still exists. Note that the tubes were about eighteen inches long and about four inches in diameter; no home-use products these. And they were FREE from where I worked at the time.
