aussteve posted:I was thinking of posting about this a couple of weeks ago, but didn't want to get banned from the OGR site for saying anything less than glamourous.
The site is extremely slow: on my Android 7 phone; on my laptop where ever I might be; on both of my home computers; and on both of my computers at work. The change was not gradual, but more of a cliff function. I thought it was new software at OGR, or changing servers, whatever. I see the same adpeeps on the screen bottom just like ROVINGSIGN.
Now I watch the top four blue lines appear one at a time. All other websites show no difference in the speed of loading or response time (I'm sure there is a railroad term for all of this that I am not using correctly). I just don't waste my time waiting anymore.
I don't think I've noticed it today.
Not a big deal - just an FYI for the site owners.
Since this is a hosted platform - not sure its up to them to worry about it. More like a Hoop.la issue.
But yeah - seems like an ad server holding up the page loads.
Havent really noticed it on my phone though...sometimes the CSS takes a second to decide what font to use - but its always been like that.
One thing that just dawned on me - (duh!) - I Just built a new PC and loaded it with Linux Mint 18 - still running Firefox - but without the "NoScript" plug-in.
So - previously - I probably was blocking these elements (and not giving it a chance to hang)
Thats probably why Im just noticing this...and as suggested - It could be some regional bottle neck or just some trouble/maintenance at the server farm.
