Reply to "Semiquincentennial 250th Anniversary Commemorative Editions"

Hopefully the real railroads will paint locomotives in commemorative liveries, just like some of them did in 1976 for the US Bicentennial celebration.

At least one short line already has.

I hope others follow suit.  I'd like to see all the big players do a tribute diesel, and I think it would also be pretty cool if Reading & Blue Mountain painted their T1 in a scheme similar to the American Freedom Train #1 (now sadly rotting away at the B&O museum ).  Such schemes would give all the model RR companies plenty of new product to sell.
