You can make two 5x5 sheets into one 10x5 sheet quite simply, and they'll have the strength of a single sheet.
Tabs are glued with Tightbond III and clamped, the screws were just to position them before the clamps.
Interlock the fingers, use a factory edge along the seam.
When it's together, it's as strong as the board.
