Reply to "Show us your custom paint jobs."

Back in the early 1980's, I was looking for another powered Alco to run with my Lionel Amtrak 8664.  At the same time, I had a UP 202 Alco with a distressed shell from a previous set purchase.  I decided to try my luck with an airbrush and repaint the UP in Amtrak colors.  To my surprise, it actually turned out quite well for my first and only custom paint job.  I put a random number on it (8523) and wired it to run in reverse.  It worked out quite well to pull a long train of Amtrak 027 passenger cars.

The picture of the UP 202 is a stock picture from the Lionel Library just for comparison.  My 202 shell was much more distressed than that.  It helped that local hobby shops of the time all carried specific Amtrak paint colors.  The third picture is a comparison to the Lionel 8664.
