Sleep mode on new Lionel SD70ACe

Just received the 3 new UP SD70ACe and noticed that if the engines are left idling for 90 seconds they go into a sleep mode.  The headlight goes out (but not the number boards or cab light) and the engine sounds turn off.  If most any button on the remote is pressed the headlight comes on and the engine goes through its start up sequence.  Same thing happens if the engines are operated with the app or the Universal Remote.  On the UR, however, only the engine that had been selected as the active one goes to sleep.  The other ones that are idling on the track do not sleep until their engine selection button is pressed and 90 seconds elapsed.  The last run of the SD70ACe did not do this, nor any other of my Legacy engines except the American Flyer ES44AC.  Those engines from awhile ago are also Legacy equipt and go to sleep like these new O scale engines.  Any one know how to override this "feature" other than pressing a button every 90 seconds for idling engines?
