Sluggish motors

hi, I run MPC era locomotives, steam and diesel electric. I recently noticed that my Little Joe is running really slow. My Santa Fe has developed an annoying habit of popping off the nylon driving wheels- it also seizes up when it goes through a turn. I'm not back home until November but would like the easiest solution- new motors?
