2014 RTR Set Smoke Fix
The 2014 RTR 2-8-0 set engines contain software that does not allow the smoke to be turned off using the smoke volume POT setting. Please download the latest chain file available on the website into the engine to correct this problem. Remember the PS3 consumer package file (.zip) format is downloaded from the website. Unzip this file one time to obtain the sound file (.MTH) format and the Chain File (.zip) format.
For example, downloading the package file for item 30-4228-1, yields the following; r141_f_280_frt_all141205au4x-cnsmr.zip (this is the consumer package file)
Unzip the consumer package file one time to obtain the following;
r141_f_280_3244_code.zip (this is the Chain File) Load this file using the FLASH icon on the Loader Program to correct the smoke issue
and
r141_f_280_frt_all140702af4x.mth (this is the Sound File)
After loading the chain file, you should be able to turn off smoke by turning th PS3 RTR set's engine's Smoke Pot completely off.
