Yes I agree with GG1 Man. What you describe does not sound right to me. I have a MTH Aerotrain from back in 2008 and it ran great out of the box and still runs great! I do run it on 042 curves, however, I've also run it on a friends layout with 036 with no problems at all. Definitely contact MTH for help.
