Interesting about no tether. Steam has shifted to wireless draw bar. Only the double powered Diesels still used a tether. I looked at 15V1 and all double powered units still have a "wired tether" connection between units.
I assume it means they will go to the wireless drawbar.
From readings here it seems many prefer the wired tether versus the new wireless drawbar. G

In the 15V1 Catalog the Diesels that still show a tether in the catalog art, will have tethers. Andy did state that in the 15V2, "All Locomotives" will have the wireless drawbar. So though, what you see has tethers now, everything else moving forward with 15V2 and forward will have a wireless drawbar.
Nothing was stated about preference of owners as to what was preferred between tether or no tether. I have no information to share there.
