We could call it what it is a GP35 body. BNSF  made quite a few into GP39's with a 3 or M  or something behind it.

Granted, checking a recent BNSF roster, most if not all remaining BNSF GP35's were retired or rebuilt into GP39's.

However, the accusation was made that BNSF or any of it's predecessor roads did not have GP35's.  This is clearly not the case, and the accuser backing up that statement with build roster information of a different locomotive (SD35) doesn't validate the claim.  An SD35 is not a GP35, pure and simple.

It is a fact that some BNSF predecessor roads did own GP35's and some did make it through mergers to BNSF.

Real news, if you will, not the so-called "fake news" as stated by the accuser.

There are photos floating around the web of GP35's in full BNSF dress before rebuilding.  Here is one such. Copyright's prevent posting the images here.  The BNSF AM model is clearly a representative of one of these, although the choice of road number may be in question, it is in the correct class and valid as appears on the BNSF GP35 patch job.  If BNSF 2526 ever made it into a full repaint is unknown by me at this time.
