Yes, IMO, thats quite a bit of track. Its your layout though, ultimately its your call.

However, I think you find O scale structures, even thoughs on the smaller side , like Lionels 6x8 2 story buildings start to suck up real estate pretty fast. Add to that, if you want a parking area and/or streets for vehicles. The same can be said for any industries you may be looking to add. You'll find your sidings are too short for more than a car or two, or one loco.  Mountains need a bit of space too.

I feel 2 concentric loops can get boring over time.  Removing the inner loop and sidings and adding a different contour to the outer loops might provide more interesting operation as well as space for scenery, industries and sidings in a different area on the layout.

Just my 2cents though. If you like it, build it.

That's the trouble, I might not like it the more I look at it. The size is a bit of an issue - the table is big enough for a wider radius curve loop, but not enough space to do too much more while maintaining a wider curve minimum.

I've been looking at this one quite a bit: https://ogrforum.ogaugerr.com/...-train-layout?page=1

I may try adjusting this to fit an O60 outer route. I noticed that as the curves get wider, you also need more length to do things like reversing loops...so my 6x12 might be a challenging size - I might have to see if I can squeeze 6x13 or 6x14 instead, which might add just enough extra length to allow more interesting operation while maintaining at least one O60 route.

Might be going back to the drawing board on this one.
