Sound In MTH 30-20258-1 GEVO

Does anyone know if the later versions of the MTH GEVO ES 44AC have better sound than the first uncatalogued run # 30-20258-1 ?

The horn sounds kind of "tinny"....I also read on another thread that the cab chatter sound file is a PS2 version....I noticed that the speaker is in the front of the engine. I also have an MTH UP ES44 starter set...I think the fidelity of the sounds are much nicer in the UP ES 44 starter set and I noticed that the speaker is located in the rear of the engine... does anyone have any insight into this?
