I have a Lionel UP SD40-T2 6-28540 and I put it on the track and the sounds don't work all I get is a static sound from it. The engine moves and the couplers open but I can't figure out how to correct the sounds. I've done a reset and checked the speaker to see if the wired are attached. I have 2 of the same locomotives and I'm wondering if I should try swapping out the boards from the good engine to see if that helps. Has anyone had a similar issue with an engine and how did you correct it. I'm hoping to get this figured out while Lionel is having their parts sale if I need to order a part to repair it.
