Lionel in their new catalog is doing the same cab number, 1372, for Southern Crescent as MTH previewed in their last catalog.  MTH is saying their Crescent Limited  will be delivered in March.  As I posted above in another post, MTH is doing their engine in Green where as Lionel is doing theirs in Black as shown below.  It nice that Lionel is offering a variation of the Crescent Limited in black.  However, Lionel is not offering any matching passenger cars at least in this catalog.

The life span of "NON-Green" Crescent Limited PS4s was very-very short.

The Crescent Limited was inaugurated  April 26, 1925.  "Early in 1926, the four 4-6-2s assigned to trains 37-38 began to sport Crescent Limited on the  tenders with the letter "c" shaped like a sliver of moon.  Crescents also ... ."  "Harrison Engines" as they were called green PS4s (numbers 1393, 1394,1395 and 1395) started pulling the Crescent Limited July 25,1926.  I have gleamed this info from various "TIRES" magazines.

Have not found info on the first four non-green PS4s yet but will look later.    Larry would probably know.
