Southern had six of these St. Louis built, Fairbanks Morse diesel powered units. They were delivered in August 1939 and used on low traffic lines. They were air conditioned and the power unit contained a baggage/mail section and a coach section. Rear truck was powered by two 400HP traction motors.

Thanks for the history. In enlarging the picture, it is of The Cracker. I really like the livery.
