At the moment, the only commercial solution intended for 3 rail O-Gauge would be an ERR board with cruise, which would require gutting all the electronics and using TMCC(or conventional?) to run the engine.
Now moving to the tinkering with things end, I'm currently working on a product designed specifically for this purpose, a cruise control module for standard LionChief engines, that would allow people to retain the LionChief remote control and sounds. At this point I'm using a Polar Express and am in the proof of concept stage, using parts that are too large to fit in the engine, and a fairly clumsy application. In any case, I'm planing to post a video if the attempt some time soon, just to see if there is enough interest in such a product to be worth shrinking the design to a useful size. I'm also unsure if a competitive price can be reached or not at this time.
