Congratulations to fellow OGR Forum member Bob Nelson (NAVY.SEAL) for erecting and running a 20'x24' Standard Gauge Module Association (SGMA) layout at the Crawford County (AR) National Night Out celebration of local police, firemen and other first responders.  Several thousand people attended the event, and I am sure Bob's display was one of the highlights.  No other SGMA members live in the area, so Bob recruited local friends and volunteers from the fairgrounds to help him assemble the large  layout, which featured three loops of track, classic standard gauge structures, and of course, great standard gauge trains from Bob's collection.  Two local radio stations and one newspaper interviewed Bob to learn more about the hobby of tinplate trains.  What a great promotion for the hobby!

Bob plans to bring the trains back to the event next year, and welcomes all tinplate enthusiasts to take part.  We all owe Bob a big thank you for making this happen!
