Bringing this back up, I'm finding a ton of suppliers for 1/16 95% wool felt, and a few that list 3/64, but haven't found any available at that thickness yet. Looking at the materials, they're listed as SAE F-51 or F-55 from distributors. I'm hoping to get a bit in 3/64, but we'll see.
