A centered headlight was standard for the unlettered 2-8-0. A smokebox front with a high mounted headlight was included in the box.

As I recall, the only 2-8-0 with a high mounted headlight installed were the B&O versions. Lettered versions did not include an alternate smokebox/headlight part.
