How long have you waited for a new locomotive announcement to be delivered?
As an O gauger, I am accustomed to long waits after new product announcements.
With the Chinese manufacturing shakeup and almost everybody scrambling for a manufacture its taking longer than Usual to get some new items.
I ordered an Atlas O L&HR RS-3 in June 2010. Atlas re-announced it in September 2012. After that I checked with my dealer to be assured that the order is still valid. At 2012 fall York I spoke with Atlas representatives. I was told delivery would be the 1st quarter 2013. At 2013 spring York, once more I spoke with Atlas representatives. I was informed delivery would be the 4th quarter 2013. At 2013 fall York I spoke with Atlas representatives again. This time they had a sample, I was told delivery would be the 1st quarter 2014. At 2014 spring York I once again spoke with Atlas representatives. I was told they were making upgrades including a smoke unit and delivery would be the 4th quarter 2014. I hope the long wait will be worth it, I’ll keep my fingers crossed.
This is not to impeach Atlas, they were handed an unexpected complication. I am sure they are doing their best under the circumstances.
