Considering that Atlas canceled the last 2 runs of the SW Series (2014 & 2016) I would not expect to see these anytime soon, custom run or not.

Seven years and counting on the Master GP7's...

I don't know what Atlas is going to do with all of that MTH tooling. They can't even make their own models let alone somebody else's.

Probably the more optimistic part of the recent MTH tooling acquisitions that gives hope on Atlas' ability to follow through on better production is that Atlas also acquired access to the MTH factory and not just the MTH tooling and molds.  MTH seemed to be able to move things along and make new tooling at a much better pace.  Now... how this translates to brining completely new products to market is still a question but at least there might be a headlight at the end of the tunnel.

Also part of the deal with MTH, Atlas became a licensee of the MTH's Proto Sound 3 electronics so expect their future 2 Rail locos to have Proto 3 sound and drop the ESU Loksound DCC support that some of their recent motive power offerings came pre-equipped with.   This will allow Atlas to use just one electronics board for both 2 Rail and 3 Rail models and probably be cheaper for Atlas overall.
