Sam, one other thing you can do. If your engine is actually 28855, then as noted before, it has Liondrive. With Liondrive you can rotate the truck 90 degrees and it will disconnect from the engine and drop down. Not all the way as the power wires will still be attached but far enough to see the ball drive on the other motor. Actually the truck being removed this way will prove its Liondrive.

Then the mystery will be how did the motor with the gear get there.
