All right, I have now almost finished my first project – digitalizing a Sunset UP 4-12-2. I am totally convinced by the belt drive concept. My first fear was that the drive ratio could be a bit fast but it turned out that the Pittman motor can be operated real slow and smooth using an ESU Loksound L v4.0 decoder. No need to change pulleys. Was it still in dcc mode, I would probably not have been satisfied with its speed range. Thanks for the help!
