Oh no! Another Saturday, another mishap in the Worcester yard. The yardmaster’s stellar safety record is in jeopardy!

Today NYC RS1 8106 has derailed. The cause of the derailment is uncertain at this time, although a loose rail joint is suspected. This was, fortunately, a low speed incident, so there were no injuries.

NYC shop switcher X-8688 was dispatched to tow the “big hook” to the scene. This will be light work for the hook, so the RS-1 should be re-railed shortly.
