Great pix and scenes so far today.
I have a newly arrived switcher to show off today. It's a MTH SW 8 # 499 with PS2. It's my hometown line, the LIRR too. The paint scheme is fantasy, but they did keep the LIRR orange on the pilots, hood, and grab irons. The prototypical scheme would have seen the body painted a charcoal gray with the orange details. The LIRR Dashing Dan decals are a nice touch too.
I gave it a quick service and changed the battery to a BCR last night and shot some pix on the shake down run. Runs nice and smooth as you would expect from MTH.
Frigid cold here in the Northeast with snow to rain for us Monday. Perfect train room weather.
