I did my homework. For the subject of this week's post, I picked one of my sentimental favorites: the Raritan River Railroad. During the period I was chasing Raritan River trains in the late 70s, the cabooses in service were of New Haven and Rutland origins. The Raritan River often ran trains with the caboose positioned ahead of the power to facilitate switching moves. I've included a shot which shows that practice.
