This is indeed a most somber Memorial Day weekend. You are right to remember. I prepared this post before the events of this past week.

This is my New Jersey train – headed by Central Railroad of New Jersey USRA 0-6-0 #107. This Atlas O locomotive is very well made, highly detailed, and has realistic steam sounds and whistle, but the stiff tether and engine-to-tender coupling are problematic. I would like to see Atlas O make more die-cast steam engines or even rerun this USRA 0-6-0 with an improved tether, but I doubt they will. The CNJ boxcars #22485 (blue) and #25624 (oxide red) are by Weaver, and the CNJ caboose #91530 is by MTH. As it circles my 10’-by-5’ layout in the video, the scale speed is 32 miles-per-hour.
