Reply to "Switcher Saturday- Mark II, 8-24-19"

Pictured below is my Atlas O model of New York Central SW8 diesel switcher #9620 with an MTH Premier NYC bobber caboose. Small locomotives and short trains such as this look best on my 10’-by-5’ single-track branch-line railroad on which the track is just an oval.

The Electro-Motive Division of General Motors produced 309 SW8 locomotives for U.S. railroads between 1950 and 1954. They were equipped with an EMD 567B 8-cylinder supercharged two-stroke diesel engine which developed 800 horsepower.
