@Trinity River Bottoms Boomer posted:1.) TV: In an episode of The Walton's, the father, John Walton, Sr., has made a deal with the owner of an apple orchard. The gentleman has ordered a box car, but when he couldn't hire a crew, the Walton bunch pick the trees bare to the limb. The bummer: You don't get to see the box car spotted on a team track waiting for the truck load of apples to be delivered. YUCK!
2.) Real Railroading on Virtual Railfan's cam: Watching the Strasburg Rail Road* switch the team track at E. Strasburg, PA with their x-NYC SW-8. If you're lucky you might get to see the crew make a run to the NS (x-PRR) interchange at Paradise, and return to E. Strasburg, with the pick up left for them by NS. As a bonus you might also witness Amtrak making their run over NS to and/or from Philadelphia. I recently encountered two Amtrak trains passing each other at Paradise.
Item: It was just like watching the Hevenly Express make it's run with final destination: PARADISE!
* Check out the Strasburg R R website and see steam and diesel working side by side in 2020. WOW!
TRBB - Nice mention of the Walton episode. I guess my post today could be interpreted as ( what the late Paul Harvey used to say ) " And now you know the rest of the story." Btw - I'm visiting Stasburg this Friday. Looking forward to it!
