Reply to "Whats the best yet afordable Plywood to use for a base of a layout that will not cost a lot of money?"

In my experience, for surface integrity it is not the thickness but the quality of the decking and the framing system.

 

I have built modules and permanent layouts using 5.5 mm to 23/32" 13 ply and no problems in decades. Slow growth dense artic hardwood ply IMO is best.
