Reply to "That One Day UP 3985 Masqueraded as UP 3718"

I was there and photographed the re creation of the 1953 Rocky Mountain Railroad Club excursion. The 3785 was renumbered to 3967 for the event.  I remember reading that only two UP Challengers were in service at that time with smoke deflectors, 3943 and 3967. At the very end of steam, there were several oil burning Challengers with smoke deflectors used as helpers, renumbered to 3700's. 

I am sure that Hot Water could verify and perhaps add additional details.
